Summer Camps - Variety at The Uptown Gallery

WESTERVILLE—Not too early to think Warm Thoughts and Fun Summer Camps!
 
Gallery 202 is a 501.c3 non-profit community arts organization offering a variety of summer camps this year for children from ages 3 1/2-15.

Concentrating and expanding on the basics of visual arts and theatre, each camp offers 3-5 days of fun and education in the spatial gallery setting at 38 N. State St., Uptown Westerville beginning mid June through mid August.

Visit us during the camps and be prepare for laughter, lots of noise and imagination to literally fly around the room. Parents may stay behind the "scenes" relaxing and enjoying free coffee and great art in our gift shop.

(Ages 5-16), Actors participating in Columbus Children’s Theatre at Gallery 202 will enjoy 6 different camps based off popular characters such as Junie B. Jones, Where the Wild Things Are! or just learn Improvisation! Each session concludes with performances by the class members – we welcome the public to see these inspiring young actors on their last day and no doubt you will smile. (Weekly Camp ranges from $80-90)

Gallery 202 visual art camps goes beyond just learning the basics and expands the horizons to include “paint on anything but canvas”, “learning how to make clothes from old T shirts”, “creating special Community Art” and the final one “Do I have to go back to school” using recycled art materials from duck tape to old jeans. Seven weekly camps for creative youths from 5-12yrs. A limited number of scholarships are available for Gallery 202 classes. (Weekly Camp $95, all supplies are included). A special July 4th Friday student exhibit is being planned, 6-9pm. If any one would like to sponsor a child, just let us know!

Young Rembrandts, a favorite of the gallery, offers 3 day camps for ages 5-12 in fundamentals of drawing including Junior Princess, Down on the Farm and Anime Cartooning. Ongoing 6 week Saturday afternoon classes are also available for 3 ½ - 5yr olds and 6-12/yr olds. (from $60). Visit the gallery and see artwork on display from these students.

Camps last from 1 ½ hrs to 2 hrs/day depending on the age level and program.
