18th-annual Central Ohio Cops & Kids Day. The event will be held in Westerville at Hoff Woods Park (556 McCorkle Blvd) on Sunday, September 11, 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Admission is FREE.

September 11th: 10 year Anniversary Observance, 2pm, First Responders Park, 374 W. Main St. Join our first responders, Westerville Police/Fire Chaplain Corps, The Ohio Patriot Guard and fellow citizens as we remember those who lost their lives during the events of September 11th 2001.

Kids Try-Athalon, 12pm, Ages 7 - 12 years old, $5 per participant. Race includes 100-meter swim, one-mile bike ride and quarter-mile run. Prizes are awarded by age category for both boys and girls. Participants must wear a helmet during the bicycle portion of the race. 614-901-6500

Doggie Paddle, 2-5pm, $5 per dog. Special swim time for dogs before the pools at the Highlands Park Aquatic Center are drained for the season. Dogs must have proof of rabies and current vaccinations. 614-901-6500.

Boy Soldiers of the Civil War with Dennis Keesee, 7pm, Westerville Public Library Meeting Room, 126 S. State St. From 1861 to 1865, more than 200,000 soldiers ages 17 or younger served in the Union and Confederate armies. Most served as drummer boys, musicians and orderlies. Countless managed to serve in the ranks carrying muskets.
