The National PTA Reflections Cultural Arts CompetitionNEWS RELEASE Attn: Education Desk and Community Events November, 2008 GALLERY 202 PRESENTS “REFLECTIONS” BY LOCAL STUDENT ARTISTS
This year's theme is simply put: "WOW"..... In its more than 30-year history, the program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art. The Reflections Program was started in 1969 by then Colorado PTA President Mary Lou Anderson. Students participate in the Reflections Program by submitting entries to their local PTA or PTSA. Any PTA/PTSA in good standing is eligible to sponsor a Reflections Program. The exhibit can be viewed at the second floor gallery located at 38 N. State Street in Uptown Westerville from noon to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. On Wednesday, the gallery extends its hours until 8 p.m. Saturday, the gallery is open from 11:00a.m.-3:00p.m. |

What is it? A National PTA sponsored "Arts" contest Why does it exist? To promote the "Arts" in education
When does it take place? From Building Level to National Level that encompasses the entire school year.
Where does it take place? How does it work? All levels must follow National PTA established rules for the contest. All entries must be inspired by the annual National PTA established "theme."
There are 4 "Arts" categories: Students can enter in ANY or ALL 4 categories!
There are 2 separately judged age levels within EACH "Arts" category:
