Civilization is primitive in 4000AD as it was only re-created a few years before by a handful of survivors after Earth’s latest apocalypse. Otterbein Cardinal Marching Band Concert, 2pm, Rike Center at otterbein College, 160 Center St. Under the new direction of Michael Yonchak, the Cardinal Marching Band brings its 2008 season to a close with a musical review of the songs the band has performed on the field and in the grand stand at Memorial Stadium. The concert will begin at with the band’s traditional entrance cadence and will feature the visual performances of the Otterbein O-Squad, the Cardinal Color Guard and our Cardinal Twirlers. "The Ox on the Roof" Sabbatical Presentation Exploring 20th Century French Music, 8pm, Riley Auditorium in the Battelle Fine Arts Center, 170 W. Park St. The presentation is a result of Johnson’s sabbatical leave in spring 2008 when he conducted research at the Bibliotheque Nationale de France in Paris, and in various other locations as well. The evening will include a discussion of the importance of the composers within the context of the musical scene in and around Paris in the early part of the century, as well as images, readings, recorded musical excerpts, and performances of representative choral music of Les Six by the Otterbein Vocal Ensemble, Kim Boyd, conductor.
