| The gallery membership application ask all of you to continue to maintain and foster a strong arts community in Central Ohio and promote all artists work within the gallery. But since the contract also states the following: 4.c. Unless otherwise noted below, With respect to Artwork(s) similar to the type and nature of those displayed under this agreement, Artist shall not sell or seek to sell such Artwork(s) within a 5 mile radius of Gallery commencing with the display, as provided in paragraph 4 of this Agreement, and within three (3) months after termination of this Agreement. We need to be aware of our community and..... since there are sooooo many opportunities for artists in the 5 mile rule and we all want to avoid any contract disputes/legal action: Here is an opportunity for all the artists:
A. Please inform us of all art/related events that you plan to have art installed/shown/etc. In the five mile area. See map thanks to Yahoo
B. There are some limitations to certain areas that we will not support art to be displayed. Simply put, When a patron is in Uptown, all artists want people to come up to the gallery, see your art, hopefully purchase yours or any artists work and come back again and again. We have to overcome a „second story¾ placement in the Uptown Area. We have begun this process by being open during fourth fridays, having workshops, breakfast with the arts and so much more. Anyone who can come up with an excellent brochure/flyer to put into other stores to let them know about our gallery, let us know and we can spread it around town. C. We have made signs to display in your booth/exhibit area. These signs must be displayed clearly. There are four available in the gallery and please tell us when you take one so that we know where they if needed. There is no cost to you to use these signs or have more created ‚ let me know what we need. We ask you to photograph your booth and include a picture with your paperwork. D. We also have made business cards for the artists with your name and the name of the gallery, hours etc on the cards. Please use these in place of your own cards when in the five mile rule. The cards are free to the artists and are at the gallery. We will re-order then at no cost to the artist. Because we are a co-operative gallery, we would like everyone to continue to feel comfortable creating our co-operative and still have fun doing it! E. If signs, cards are used and artists have informed the gallery of their exhibits, then no commission is due to the gallery. We want the co-op members to advertise the gallery - at no expense to you. F. However, if you choose not to use the gallery sign and cards only or am unable to use them, then 10% of the total gross income will be due to the gallery. Please inform us of places that you are not able to use them and perhaps we can work an arrangement with them. If you have suggestions on how to work together, let us know! G. Co-operative gallery means that we all work towards making the gallery a success together and that each artist is guaranteed a sense of ownership in the gallery. We thank you for your contribution to making gallery 202 Co-op the success as we continue to grow. In this way, we can keep the cost for co-op artists low!
