Bernard Gartner

I am a self taught photographer who prefers to work with traditional film and printing papers. I like to use both black and white and color film to help convey my vision of the natural scene. My camera of choice is a 4x5 view camera which gives me a great amount of control over the photograph and a more realistic depiction of the scene.

Artist Statement

As a photographaer, my understanding of natures complex interactions can best be conveyed through the use of a landscape photograph. Landscape photography can be used to capture not only the interaction of natural subjets but also the mood of the scene. It is through the use of the view camera and traditional photographic matericals that I wish to capture the mood of the natural environment.

The Prints

All prints are hand made by the Artist using traditional materials and methods. The black and white prints are optically printed on archival grade double weight fiber based papers and hand processed. The color prints are optically printed on archival grade professional color papers and hand processed. All prints are processed for long term permanence. The prints are offered in 8 x 10, 11 x 14 sizes and framed or unframed. The framed prints are mounted on museum quality matt board with aluminum frames and acrylic glazing with uv protection. The matted prints are mounted on museum quality matt board in a resealable protective bag.
