May 10, 2004 - Updated July 13, 2004 Can you believe that it has been two years since we began this interesting process and now we are at the journey's end. Just a few more needs. ANYONE WISHING TO HELP SET UP - I will be at the High Road Gallery on Monday July26 from around 9:30 and coming and going until around 4. Then I will return around 6:30 to take in the rest of the work until around 8:30. Please plan on bringing in any extra work at that time. After the show layout has been made, if you want your particular piece to be set up in a certain way, then plan on coming that night to move it to your satisfaction. Also if you liked your "mannequin" better than mine, bring it early on Monday or to me by the end of next week. AND THERE WILL BE A NEW PASSAGES ENTRY INFO TO PRESENT DURING THE SHOW (JUST A FEW MORE PLEASE) Please sign up to sit for High Road Gallery. Any one who signs up may bring in other work to display/sell in the upstairs area of the gallery. Ramona Moon is the manager for two weeks of this exhibit and will have a big display in the bathroom....can't wait to see it. Let me know ASAP (by email) so we can get the slots filled, feel free to have two or more sitters at one time. It's more fun with friends. Also Išve included the reaction sheet. If you haven't filled one out, please do. (POSTCARDS HAVE BEEN SENT)I am in the process of getting postcards. High Road Gallery takes 350 and sends out to their patrons plus over 500 emails. Carol suggested that we get 1000, which makes sense and indicated that the cost is around $175. I am asking for anyone who wants postcards to donate to the cause. For each 25 cards - $8 which will include postage to mail back to you. I don't have the image selected but I am leaning towards a composite of many and will let you know soon. (helps to pay for all the postcards and some postage) We will be displaying the work in the two main gallery rooms downstairs and in the other areas, I plan on showing past passages - the wedding gowns/goddesses. If any of you have pieces still intact please let me know and we will include those in the overall exhibit. (Thanks Karen) I have also asked a couple of other people (who have contributed work for other exhibits the Gallery has had) to display their works that are definately a passage. One of them is a 16 year old young woman who has a wonderful teenage angst piece (from the chair show). We are also responsible for the goodies for the Artist Reception. Normally I just suggest a pot luck type of deal but if any one wants to take on the task of a coordinated approach.... just let me know and you can go for it..... I'm planning on having my hubby around to cook some good food for us. We will also need to bring our own drinks - bring your choice. I'll put the choices on the website if you want. So please sign up to sit in the gallery and if you do, plan on hanging some of your artwork. I will let you know how many pieces to bring - will depend upon the number of people signed up. Invite everyone of course to come to the reception or during the weekdays. And I was invited to talk about this exhibit (and others) at Conversations and Coffee, at the Cultural Arts Center in Downtown Columbus on August 12th, noon to 1 pm. Please join me. Oh and finally........ we got a call from Women's Day Magazine (thanks to Kriss Jenny Case) and may have a small bit about our creativity circle in an upcoming magazine. Wouldn't it be great if it was in August. They called in January and then in April to get some pictures. Who knows what may happen but it's great just to be contacted by them. DATES TO REMEMBER:
JULY 26 - non passages pieces delivered to High Road Gallery. Go to May, 2004 link for the reaction sheet quesitons.
