Share Your Art Day
Be a part of ‘Share Your Art Day- 2006’ in Westerville
Here’s how it works: Decorate the front of a specially marked postcard available at Gallery 202, Co-op. 38 North State St, Westerville Ohio 43081, 614-0-8202, www.shareyourart.org.
Return the completed postcard, along with your $5.00 entry fee, to Gallery 202 Co-op, 38 N. State Street, Westerville, OH 43081 between April 1st and May 31st, 2006. You may decorate the postcard any way that you wish – paint, draw, add buttons etc. but we ask that you keep it to the basic size of the postcard. Please place it in a protective envelope (padded if needed) and return or mail to Gallery 202 Co-op.
Gallery 202 will stamp your postcard with a unique registration number. We will photograph and record each postcard received and place an image on the web site. Each “artwork” will then be placed in a protective clear bag with an explanation of the Share Your Art Day program. Instructions will also be provided on how to give a report on where the artwork was found and where it is now.
On specific date(s) during the summer of 2006, these works of art will be placed in a variety of places throughout the Westerville area. Periodically log onto www.shareyourart.org to get updates about where your artwork might be.
We will accept postcards after May 31, 2006 but those received after May 31, 2006 will not be placed in the community until a later time.
When Share Your Art Day arrives, search the Westerville area to find yours or any other artist’s art postcard. When you find it, log onto www.shareyourart.org and fill out the Postcard finder’s form with the postcard’s registration number, and the date, time and place where you found the postcard. Tell us what you plan to do with the artwork – send it on, keep it, or leave it in a new spot.
Our goal is to release 500 decorated postcards into the Westerville area over the summer months. Help us spread the word - Take the Journey • Make Art Happen!
