Westerville Art League opportunities

These are recent emails (all in one day) about possible opportunities for visual artists in the Westerville Area.

Hi Artists,

I was talking to a business owner in Columbus Square Shopping Center. Their Merchant's Association is trying to think of things to draw business and may be interested in displaying or doing something with the art community. Ceragem has a wonderful place to display art, three or four big white walls. If anyone is interested in pursuing this opportunity call James Taylor at 614-794-9500 or email him at ceragem-columbus@yahoo.com or jgtaylor @wowway.com.. Please pass this information on to others who may be interested. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Jane Davis

Dear WAL Members:

Sean Callander is opening a Studio/Gallery in Westerville and is
looking for artists interested in hanging their artwork for sale. He
will take 20% of all sales.

For WAL Members and others who might receive this email, if you have
a contract with Gallery 202 you should be aware that getting involved
with Sean's Gallery, DOES NOT negate your responsibilities to Gallery
202.
Please read your contract and/or contact Renee for clarification
if needed.

Further, I want to alert WAL Members to NOT ASSUME acceptance in
Sean's Gallery. After all it is HIS gallery and he has a right to
approve the work hanging or placed on display there. He is looking
for 2D as well as 3D works.

If interested in this opportunity, please call Sean at #740/816-5242.

On November 26th he will be having a Raku firing and would like to
have other artists working outside or inside on that day and have
artwork displayed.

Good luck,

John

The High Road Gallery, 12 E. Stafford Avenue in Worthington, would like to invite you to participate in “All Creatures Great and Small,” an exhibit that focuses on the art of the animal, wild or domestic. The show runs from January 18 through January 28, 2006, and will include the work of artists from around Ohio, including 3D.

This will not be a juried show, but an opportunity to exhibit your work. All art must be for sale, and a 10% commission goes to the gallery. Hours: Wed. through Fri. 12-4 pm, Sat. 11:30 am-4 pm. Show participants are asked to volunteer to “sit” the gallery during the show. A signup sheet will be circulated at take-in.

Take-in Date: January 16, 6—8 pm
Artists reception/party: January 22, 2—4 pm. Potluck of cookies and appetizers, punch
