Naming a month for art and artists still does not open the gates for artist to do their thing. Why isn't the Art Barn not hosting artists every week, etc, etc

A working studio is a small business, and when people look at art from that angle, they realize that the artist/owner only pockets 11% to 12% of what their art sells for.
My inventory of capital equipment is well over $200,000. It has taken me 10 years to get there. Now I have a home where I have land and few restrictions on doing my art.
Way back when there was a counter culture news paper in Columbus, called "Our Choking Times". This applies to most artists that I know today, they can do their art, "except....", or "yes, but".
If a community wants art and artist, then they have to make the investment and the commitment to support the arts and the artists.

Out here in nowhere Ohio, a contractor bought up the old Fostoria Glass works. Torn down two of the three buildings for other land uses. The third building is being renovated for the artists and crafters in the area to have affordable space. That third building when completed is being donated to the local government for $1.00, what a wonderful idea.
Has anyone from Westerville talked to Mettler or Bank One about donating a building for the local artists to use? Great PR and good for corporate image.

Actions speak louder than words. So what is the city doing to help the artists during the April celebration of the arts? Each and every artist who has participated in the Westerville arts scene should be recognized with a proclamation for their individual efforts.
